Youth Video Production Workshop in Youth Center Jajce Ispis E-mail
Ponedjeljak, 28 Juli 2008

Between July 15 and 25 of this year, Youth Center Jajce — in cooperation with Jeff Harder, the Program Director of Communication Studies at Loyola University Chicago — is for the second time helping realize a youth video production workshop in Jajce. The goal of this workshop is to — through fun and educational exercises, discussion and practical work — introduce the participants to the basics of video equipment use for production of short films and other audiovisual materials. In this way, the organizers want to offer something new and interesting to the young people in Jajce, to teach them new skills and show them that short films can be made using a basic video camera and a computer; that is, the kind of equipment which is relatively accessible to youth in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Introduction Anne Vaillant Ispis E-mail
Petak, 14 Mart 2008

Hello, I'm Anne, the little French volunteer in Jajce for 6 month.

I come from Paris (it doesn't mean I'm romantic, trust me...). As a real French girl I love of course cheese, bread  and wine. And I think that's what I will miss the most.

I came here to support the theater ATJ, the work is similar to what I used to do as a comedian in Paris. I didn't know anything about Bosnia and the Balkan's culture in general before I came here. I already traveled for 1 year in Germany and Canada, so I wasn't really afraid to come here but it's the first time I really feel like a foreigner, everything is different here - the culture, the food, the rhythm... I guess that's why I'm quite excited to be here.

My challenge is to speak Bosnian well at the end of my EVS. The only thing is that 6 months is quite a short time to do everything I want... but I am ready to get into it!!!

Hello there!

My name is Michael and I will be a volunteer here at the OC Jajce for a full year, from October 2007 until September 2008. My sending organisation is Friedenskreis Halle, and my work here is supported by the German Stiftung Erinnerung, Verantwortung und Zukunft (Foundation for Remembrance, Responsibility and Future). I am 25 years old and originally from Austria, although I live in Berlin since I started my studies five years ago, and now it is something like a second home to me by now.

Hannelore Vleugels Introduction Ispis E-mail
Četvrtak, 20 Septembar 2007

hannaThanks that you take the time to read some words from this Belgian volunteer. My name is Hannelore Vleugels and I just became 22 years old. I grew up in Antwerp, a big city in the north of the country. It is a beautiful city with a nice atmosphere and a big cultural life. We have a port and a very nice old buildings and a lot of bars. One of the nicest things to do is to surrender yourself to the nightlife of Antwerp while drinking a good glass of Belgian beer. Beer is together with chocolat and french fries the most famous product of my country.

In Belgium we speak 3 languages Dutch in the north, French in the south and a few of us speak German in the east. In this small country (30 528 km2 ) we live with more than 10 million people.

Dorothee Robert introduction Ispis E-mail
Petak, 31 August 2007
dorothee1Hello! First of all, I would like you to try to read this report „with the french accent“ (this ghost which follows me everywhere)... To introduce myself, my name is Dorothée Robert. I am 22 years old. I am in Jajce for a 6 month period (from the end of july 2007 to the end of january 2008). I come from France, where I study physics in Cachan, a town in the suburbs of Paris. It is not usual to study physics and to do an EVS, maybe because all physicists are only interested in numbers (stereotype?), or maybe because most of them want to finish their very long studies as soon as possible.

local magazine SENZORDear Donors,

The magazine ‘Senzor' is the only local newspaper in Jajce, Bosnia and Hercegowina.

When the magazine was established, the main focus lay on the Youthcenter OC Jajce. Nowadays Senzor is one of the most important providers of information on recent news and events in Jajce and surrounding. Democracy and a-political are the two words, which can describe us best. Next to news and information there is space for advertisement and we offer the possibility to place a short announcement for the local community, without charge.
